Your passage of the Bosporus starts in
Istanbul, the fabulous city that stretches over two continents.
Your ships first passes the crowded outskirts of Istanbul before
passing the first of two suspension bridges. Photos © 2008

On the left is Europe; Asia is on the
right. It is a sensational feeling to have two continents at an
arm's length as your ship zigzags towards the Black Sea. Photos ©

Make sure you are out on deck! The
Bosphorus Bridge is the 15th longest suspension bridge in the
world and was completed in 1973. It connects Europe and Asia.

The banks of the Bosporus are lined
with monuments, castles, villas and villages. Rumelihisari
fortress guards the European side of the Bosporus since 1452. On
the Asian side you will find similar, though older, fortresses. Photos © 2008
