AIDAcara cruise ship review with photos - Dubai

Our plane touches down in Dubai at 8:30 AM and we are ushered to the Terminal 2 Arrivals lounge where numerous Immigration booths open just for the three AIDA charter flights that have just touched down. With no formalities to speak of, we are directed towards an army of waiting coaches that will bring us to AIDAcara.

A short drive and there we see our ship docked at the beautiful Dubai Cruise Terminal. An AIDA host boards the coach to tell us about the routines and then we are off to check in and board our ship. It's all so meticulously planned and so well executed that we forget all about the stormy start of our vacation. What a perfect way to start a cruise!

Once on board, we first discover our living quarters and then enjoy a late breakfast/early lunch on the open aft deck. Only an hour or so after boarding, our suitcases arrive (we haven't seen our luggage since we checked in at Düsseldorf) and by 2.00 PM we are ready to discover some of the sights and sounds of Dubai.

As cruise passengers are not allowed to walk in the port area, we grab one of the many taxis that are waiting in front of the cruise terminal and head straight for the Burj Al Arab, the world's tallest and most celebrated hotel. After a quick photostop, we end up next door at the glamorous Jumeira Beach Hotel, where we enjoy a lavish Afternoon Tea. By taxi we head for the Mall of the Emirates. With an enormous covered ski slope in the middle of an impressive shopping mall, this is a must-see on any visit to Dubai. We are back on board AIDAcara by dinner time. And after dinner it is time to see the famous AIDA laser show out on deck.
