Our home away from home is cabin 6133 on Deck 6,
AIDAcara's
wrap-around Promenade Deck. It's here that we notice a few
interesting differences between a traditional cruise ship
and our German 'Club Ship'.

Five
elevators will whisk you to any of the 9 decks
and any of AIDAcara's xx staterooms. Ranging from comfortable
inside cabins to suites with private balconies, you will
always find living quarters that will suit your budget. The cabin
corridors are wide for a ship of this size and the
differently colored cabin doors make orientation
relatively simple. |

The most important difference
between AIDAcara's cabins and their mass market counterparts is service,
or its apparent absence. Each AIDA cabin is serviced once a day between the hours of 11 and 3, which means your towels will
only be replaced once a day. There is no mini bar, no room service, no chocolate
on your pillow and you will have to close the curtain yourself at night - no big
deals if you ask me! What you will also find is a great bathroom with
glass-enclosed shower cubicle and ample storage space. On the dressing table,
there is a glass carafe that you can
fill with mineral water (still or sparkling) from any of the 'filling stations'
in the corridor. The decor is very pleasing, too. The dark blue awning and the
rattan furniture bring a lot of charm to the cabin. This truly feels like a home
away from home.
