Guests that
have a few extra Dollars, Euros or Yen lying around will be happy to know
that Queen Mary 2 offers an impressive range of Suite
accommodations. Apart from Junior Suites,
Penthouses and Royal Suites this ship is home to the
most extravagant suites in the cruise industry. The 1,194
square foot Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth Suites boast
private panoramic elevator access and commanding views over
the bow, while the slightly larger Windsor, Buckingham and Holyrood Duplex Suites even offer two levels of luxury. |

Top of the
line are the Balmoral and Sandringham Duplex Suites on decks 9
and 10, each measuring 2,249 square feet. On the lower floor,
a large sitting room with dining area keeps the guests
entertained. Here you will also find a fully equipped galley,
a bathroom and a huge teak terrace overlooking the main
swimming pool. A beautiful curved staircase brings you to the
second floor, where you will find a luxurious bedroom,
bathroom with separate whirlpool bath, bidet, toilet and
shower. Not at all bad! |

Contrary to
what you would think, celebrity chef Todd English hails from
the United States. His restaurant in Boston is a downright hit
and judging by first reactions onboard, his first seagoing
eatery on Queen Mary 2 will soon follow suit. The Todd
English Restaurant is located all the way aft on deck 8 and is
accessed by means of a tent-like room in gold and red,
featuring some very interesting artwork. The menu that is on
display during our visit shows Mediterranean influences, best
experienced on days when the weather cooperates when guests
may dine alfresco on the outdoor terrace next to the main swimming pool. Experiencing Todd English
Restaurant requires a table reservation, but no extra charge -
for which Cunard should be highly commended.

The Canyon
Ranch Spa on Queen Mary 2 is the largest fitness and
beauty center on the Seven Seas, with more than 50 employees
ensuring the wellness of every guest, whether it is during a
Thalasso therapy session, in one of the massage rooms, steam rooms,
Finnish Sauna or in the expansive Fitness Center with all the
latest gadgets. And naturally, QM2's Canyon Ranch Spa also offers full
hairstyling and beauty salons in a separate room up on deck 8,
accessed by a teak wooden staircase from the main spa area on
deck 7. |
