In 2001, she was
launched as European Vision by Festival Cruises. Only three years
later, Festival Cruises ceased operations and the 58,714 ton vessel was
offered for sale. Jumping at the chance to grow their fleet, MSC Cruises
snapped up the ship and renamed her MSC Armonia (pronounced with
Italian flair). She returned to service in MSC colors and became an
instant hit with her predominantly European guests. In the summer of 2008,
she is based in Dover, Bremerhaven and Amsterdam, picking up guests at any
of these three ports for cruises to the Norwegian Fjords and Baltic
Capitals. I visited MSC
Armonia during one of the Amsterdam calls on June 5, 2008.
