Ah, the joys of boarding a classic ocean liner!
Saga Ruby
welcomes her guests in the spacious Reception Hall on Upper
Deck. With a marble floor, colorful carpet, whimsical
chandelier, wood paneling and a 24-hour Reception desk, this
is the place you will first lay eyes on
Saga Ruby's
elegant, understated looks and home-like atmosphere. Welcome
on board! |

By
today's standards, the 24,492 ton Saga Ruby is not a
large cruise ship. Still, despite her modest size
she offers a whopping 23 stateroom categories, ranging
from compact inside single rooms to two lavish two-level
duplex suites with private balconies. Finding your way
around the cavernous cabin decks can be a challenge.
Still, this is what makes this ship a true liner! |

All
staterooms are done in a restful (some would call it slightly
dull) color scheme, with grayish carpeting, lots of wood
paneling and green and red accents. No matter what grade you
choose, you can always count on having a flat screen TV, a set
of bedside books (!) and ample storage space. The bathrooms
look neat and tidy and are fully tiled. Many of them have full-sized
bath
tubs - another reminder of
Saga Ruby's heritage.
And a classic ship has a sheer, which means the floors in
cabins in the forward or aft parts are sloping
considerably.

Top of
the line in shipboard accommodations are the suites on the
upper decks. Very nice are the balcony suites on Bridge
and Sun Decks, with cabins 1 and 2 being the most sought
after. These two duplex grand suites come equipped with a
sauna, exercise equipment, a library and two private
balconies, one of which has a hot tub. |
