It is a given fact that the Brits love their wee bit of fresh
air. And therefore most ships catering to the UK market have a lot of of open deck space.
Saga Ruby
is no different. In fact, she has acres of gorgeous teak
open decks on several decks, culminating in a lovingly
maintained wrap-around Promenade that is lined with lots of
inviting cushioned lounge chairs. |

But
before we explore your place in the sun, we first descend
to the bowels of the ship. Deep down on C Deck, reached
from the amidships stairwell, is the Spa Aquarius. In
addition to the sauna, massage, treatment rooms and hair
salon is a delightful indoor swimming pool lined with
comfortable lounge chairs. Well maintained, the pool is
one of Saga Ruby's gems. |

Now, let's go outside. On this warm and sunny spring day many
people have ventured out to the huge Pool Deck, which has a
modest swimming pool with twin hot tubs. A small pool bar
caters to the thirsty crowd, while many guests sit down at
teak tables under oversized orange umbrellas
for
breakfast or
lunch. One deck up, there's another wide teak deck with many
lounge chairs, tables and lots of ... ah ... space! Carrying
only 670 guests, it is here out in the open that Saga Ruby
shows off her more than generous amount of elbow room. |

The
wraparound Promenade Deck is perfect for a brisk walk or a
lazy time gazing over the horizon from any of the lounge
chairs. All the way aft are two small shady terraces with
whicker furniture overlooking the sun deck action. On the
top level, you will find shuffleboard, a golf driving
range and a small gym with exercise equipment and aerobics
room. |
